Cali ‘genius’/Does the world need any more books? Blog tour day 3
DAY THREE. Today, the Davide Cali Blog Tour baton is passed to children’s book review website, My Book Corner, and the publishing blog, SPLOG.
My Book Corner has posted a very entertaining Q&A with Davide Cali, a (p)review of his new book, 10 Little Insects, plus they’re giving readers the chance to win a signed copy of the new book, out in June.
Clearly, My Book Corner’s Emma Perry was extremely impressed by the new book. Here’s an excerpt from her review:
This is a graphic novel which surpassed all my expectations. Character, plot and intrigue are manipulated through witty dialogue and sharp illustrations in a mind-bogglingly effortless manner. Genius.
My Book Corner reviews only the very best in children’s literature, alongside live price comparison. Born out of a desire to discover inspirational and exciting books for the creator’s own children, the popular website aims to spark readers’ interests with reviews of an entire assortment of children’s literature, ranging from the fun and quirky to the simply inspirational and unforgettable.
Also today, Wilkins Farago’s Director Andrew Wilkins looks forward to Cali’s tour in a post on SPLOG, the blog of the Small Press Underground Networking Community (SPUNC). He writes:
While the world doesn’t need another book per se, I believe it will always need another exceptional children’s book.
SPUNC is a representative body for small and independent Australian publishers. It was formed in 2006 to promote independent publishing and support the principle of diversity within the publishing industry as a vital component of Australian literary culture.
The Davide Cali blog tour is taking place from 1 to 15 May, as a countdown to Davide’s first visit to Australia from 16 to 28 May. Every day, some of Australia’s most interesting book bloggers will be posting interviews with him, reviewing his books, offering giveaways and maybe giving a sneak peak of his award-winning new book, 10 Little Insects.
